Merlin Mann: Inbox Zero
Thursday, July 26th, 2007Productivity hero Merlin Mann from 43 Folders recently gave a talk at Google on managing email. While I’ve heard a similar talk before, this guy really knows his stuff and I’m going to try and implement his suggestions.
If you’re getting more email than I am (which I have trouble coping with sometimes), it’s worth [...]
The benefits of good hardware
Monday, July 23rd, 2007I recently, after much saving, purchased a 320GB LaCie D2 external drive for my desktop setup at home. Previous to this I had a 250GB drive (Seagate I think) inside a reasonably generic case. The disadvantage to the latter was that it had poor MacOS compatability, where if the Mac went to sleep, I’d have [...]
God’s gift to Facebook: 3rd Party Apps
Tuesday, July 17th, 2007With the recent addition of 3rd party apps, Facebook has become the superior site to MySpace among many of my tech-savy friends at Uni and at Apple. While some of them I find a bit of a waste of time, many of them are very useful and are very exciting for me as a user [...]
Live Earth and the iPhone
Monday, July 16th, 2007While looking a little over exposed, here’s me with an iPhone (with its all encompassing glow) while I was at Apple’s Australian HQ last week for some training as I take on the role as UTS Campus Rep. Naturally, the first thing I did was go to my very own website and checked out how [...]
The lamest promotional video I’ve ever seen
Saturday, June 30th, 2007Check this lame video for Norton’s 360 security suite:
It’s part of some promotion they’re running at the following web address http://www.shouldwetellhim.com, where you can win a copy of the software or a PlayStation Portable. I’d know which one I’d rather have - and it’s not the software.

Why poorly designed search sucks.
Thursday, June 14th, 2007Rececntly, for an assignment for Uni I was writing researching consumer and business security and user privacy in relation to IT.
Using the UTS Library search tool to find academic papers on such topics I came back with the following group of results in response to the query “computer security” or “computer privacy” (one of the [...]
Where in the world have I been?
Tuesday, June 5th, 2007Since it’s been quite a while since the hype that surrounded CeBIT AU (and I’ve still got some reviews to write up when I get a chance), I thought I’d let you know what I’ve been up to of late!
I’ve been doing a lot of Uni related activities of late - assignments, some paid work [...]
CeBIT Australia Officially Open
Tuesday, May 1st, 2007I just got back from the Official Opening of CeBIT Australia. I felt like I was in the presence of royalty when I realised who I was sitting behind, CEO of Mozilla Foundation Mitchell Baker.
We had 3 speakers before the cutting of the red tape to open the event.
I’m sure the Google booth wont [...]
Geekologie.com and moving servers…sorta
Monday, April 9th, 2007I’m loving this website! I’m not sure who’s publishing the blog posts, but it seems like they’re just finding cool geek/gadget culture stuff and posting about it. Two of my favourites posted recently are the Super Mario Bros Wedding Cake found via flickr and the iPod body armor.
If you like geek culture, check it out!.
On [...]
Google Maps Fun
Monday, April 2nd, 2007Check out this little fun piece of trivia a friend alterted me to on Google Maps.
Go to the Google Maps website and in the text box type “Chicago to Germany”. Scroll down the list of directions on the left hand side and read point 20.
If you’re to lazy to do all that - just click [...]
